Birth registration
Have you had a child? Then you must notify the municipality where your child was born within 3 days of the birth. We call this birth registration. The day of birth does not count towards the 3 days. Was your child born in the municipality of Altena? Then you can register the birth online. Make sure you do this on time.
What do you need?
You need the DigiD of both parents and a scan or photo of the birth certificate. You will get this from the arts or obstetrician. Does the doctor or obstetrician not have the form? Then he or she can use this form.
Is it not possible for you to register the birth digitally? Please call us on 0183 - 51 61 00.
Who can register the birth?
These persons may register the birth:
- the child's father
- the child's mother

Is the father, mother or co-mother unable to file a report? Then someone else can report it.
